Our History
Founded in 1952, the Toronto Police Widows & Orphans Fund was created solely to serve members and employees of the Toronto Police Service. As a Fraternal Benefit Society, we manage funds carefully to ensure sustainability, so families can depend on support for generations to come.

Accountability You Can Trust
The Toronto Police Widows & Orphans Fund is regulated by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), and the Ontario Insurance Act.
Our Fund is overseen by a dedicated Board of Directors that includes:
- Representatives from the Toronto Police Service, Toronto Police Amateur Athletics Association, Toronto Police Pensioners Association, Toronto Police Association, and the Senior Officers Organization
- External Directors bringing financial, regulatory, and governance expertise
Together, the Board oversees strong financial management, compliance with regulations, program sustainability, and high-value services delivered at low cost.
